THE MARTINS RESET.

Phase 1.

Day 1.

We started by taking our starting weight and before measures and pics. We have some fluff to get rid of! And that is totally ok, we are human! We haven’t been eating horrible, but we do need to clean some things up so we’ll feel better in the long run!

We decided to do this program again because we also have been feeling really drained lately, no energy despite how much sleep we get. no focus, kinda feeling blah. Plus we haven’t given ourselves more than a few days off from working out in almost 3 years, so we need this in so many ways.

For our meals we had eggs with Ezekiel toast and spinach for breakfast. Lunch was a huge micro green salad and a lentil lime salad. Our snack was vegan Shakeology with strawberries and chia seeds. Bryan opted for an extra approved snack- green apple with almond butter and I had a spoon of almond butter also. Dinner was Southwestern Veggie Tacos.

We drank a gallon of water each, and took a walk to the mailbox and back, which is a nice long walk at our house!

There’s some supplements that we take at set times according to meal times, then you have to wait 30 minutes to eat. So you definitely have to plan your meals out which we did.

We were a little low on energy and missing all our snacks but otherwise the food is really good! We had a dull headache most the day, but this is from us detoxing off of caffeine, coffee, preworkout supplements, sugar, and not great eating habits. It’s just an adjustment when you’re used to eating a certain way, but we know we will feel so good after it’s done!

Day 2.
Breakfast was a delicious huge serving of oats, blueberries, and Greek yogurt.

Lunch was another huge microgreens salad, and a quinoa salad. Mid afternoon snack was our vegan shakeology with strawberries and chia seeds. And dinner was Nori rolls, a Japanese cucumber salad, and Miso soup.
We really weren’t hungry between meals today, but we did realize that on a typical day, we eat when we’re bored or stressed.
Our headaches are much better today, just a mild throb for Brandy who also had some muscle aches in her legs and lower back. Bryan started with leg aches during the night. All part of the detox process.

Day 3.

Same thing for breakfast today. For lunch I did a sweet potato with my quinoa salad, and Bryan did another huge microgreen salad. Snack was vegan Shakeology with chia seeds and strawberries. Supper was a repeat of the Southwestern veggie taco!

We drink a lot and we pee a lot. No other way to say it. 🙂

We soaked in Epsom salt baths today to help with the leg aches. Other than the aches, we felt good today!!

One tip I can give as far as making food prep easier, is to always be thinking ahead to the next meal. Some recipes require letting things set, marinate, or soak. So usually while I’m making one meal, I’m already planning the next.

Day 4.

Done yo! Food has all been good. Today Bryan was super achy like I was a day ago, detox! I have a throbbing headache right now, but also had some worry with Meeko today so that didn’t help(he had surgery today). I had some emotional moments, again part of the process. I did Wakeup this morning feeling good though and ready to go! So that’s a good sign! 17 more days to go!!

Day 5.

Day 5 done. I felt hungry today, despite the big portions…Checkout those Nori sushi rolls! Soooo good!!!! I had no issues today, Bryan did good too, he’s having the lower body aches the last couple days but we’re soaking in Epsom salt baths so hopefully he’ll be done with that part tomorrow. Sipping a cup of tea and heading to bed soon!  We can have herbal tea only, no caffeine. I do miss coffee but this will do for now.

Day 6.

Done. We had a good day today, portions were a good size, that roasted root medley bottom right is the bomb.com!

Things we miss right now- coffee, grilled peanut butter banana, preworkout. That’s about it. Cravings aren’t horrible, but it’s hard knowing you can’t eat what you do want.

Otherwise we are getting energy bursts now, no headaches, and the aches Bryan was having are much better!! Whoop!

Day 7.

Phase 1. Done.

More of the same faves today, tomorrow starts some new recipes. And we are super excited for breakfast!!!!!

We felt good today. A few weird things are happening, like Bryan had a nosebleed during the night, I woke up sore in my neck and back, so we think we beat one another up last nite in our sleep!

Other weird things that happened this week- I totally forgot how to set my house alarm, I had weird dreams which I guess isn’t too unusual, I kept getting my words backwards today, I talked back to the microwave a couple times this week, and my sense of smell is heightened, and that’s not necessarily a good thing at times. Lol. Otherwise we are having bursts of energy but also bouts of fatigue.

Moving on to phase 2 tomorrow!

Phase 1 Results

Phase 2.
Day 8.

The top picture is acorn squash with a garlic tahini filling, and it is the bomb dot com! It’s one of our favorite recipes in phase 2!!!

Breakfast for the next 2 weeks is a ton of fresh fruit, which we are also excited about!

We felt great today, lots of energy, no issues. It’s detox week which means a new drink which is gritty and lemony but also rather yummy! We will have a cup of tea in a bit and call it a night.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Day 9.

I would kill someone for a grilled PB & banana, for realz. I think it’s going to be my first meal back! Lol.

But seriously, today was fine, actually having a hard time finishing the portions for lunch and dinner. Our energy is up, natural energy! No caffeine or preworkout for 9 days now. We feel really good tonight. We are sleeping great too!

Day 10.

Done. Still going strong! No cheats or treats allowed. Energy is good, food is good, sleep is good.

Best part of today, 3 cups of fresh fruit for breakfast. Yes please!

Day 11.

The struggle is real for me today, I’m having a hard time choking any more veggies down, but the show must go on! Bryan on the other hand can’t get enough of them!

We are loving all this fresh fruit!! And probably one of our favorite meals, the acorn squash with garlic tahini filling. Oh my gosh, it is sooooo good. I could eat that every evening!

We still feel good. A little bit of ‘reset brain’, like a fog, having trouble remembering who I am, kidding, just things in general. I was sort of sad today, but it could have been the rainy weather. Otherwise, the energy is still great!

Oh and in case you’re wondering if this program makes you run to the bathroom a lot… only to pee, not for the other part. It’s a natural detox so we are just fine as far that end goes. You’re welcome! Until tomorrow….

Day 12.

Interesting day of clothes on backwards, sweatshirts and blankets, crankiness, forgetting how to put phrases together, delirium and giggles. I’d say we’re having a pretty good time! Energy was good today!

Day 13.

We had fruit on the run this morning bc we had an errand. Lots of veggies today, huge salad and a coconut acorn squash soup, Asian stir fry wth Miso soup and a baked sweet potato. And of course vegan ShakeO!

We were pretty low on energy today, so we just chilled all day and waited for the next meal. Yep. That’s pretty much how it went down. Til tomorrow!

Day 14.

It was a much better day all around! Thank goodness be used yesterday I had to be talked off a ledge!

We slept in, took it easy this morning so by this afternoon we had some energy and went 4 wheeler riding, got some fresh air, and enjoyed the day together.

We weren’t grumpy and we didn’t feel HANGRY all day like we did yesterday. 7 days left. 👊🏼

Day 15.

Wasn’t really hungry today but those roasted beets were delicious!!

Another day down, another day closer to day 21. We got the itch to be done!

Feeling drained on energy today. But we are sleeping soooo good at night which is a plus!

Day 16.

In my best Forest Gump voice… That’s all I got to stay about that….

But really, it was a better day for me all around which made the reset day go better too. We miss our grains! And feel hungry this week. But we’re so close! Just keep swimming right?
