Men, today’s “world” seems to be more and more trying to tell us to “be more like women,” and in some cases I think that’s what it wants… more women. ((Ladies this post isn’t about you so don’t get your feathers ruffled))

But let me just throw this out there at ya… WE ARE NOT WOMEN. Duh right? God created us very differently. There are those who throw around the term “toxic masculinity” in an effort to “quiet” that built-in “aggression” that comes with the average male… that desire to “be the best” at something… that DRIVE that brings us to compete, train, work, push toward our goals…

Let’s clear something up though… those “little boys” out there who “compete” for the most women, who can out drink the other, who can dominate the “weaker” people out there or back-stab to get the best job or yell and intimidate to “get their way.” Well as I said… LITTLE BOY.

That natural tendency to FIGHT is NOT a bad thing… WHEN IT’S FOR THE RIGHT THING. That natural inclination to BECOME BETTER, to PROTECT others, to STAND UP to INJUSTICE, to FIGHT for those who can’t fight for themselves… fighting for the kingdom of God and His glory.

That’s not a “toxic thing,” that’s a part of who GOD made us to be!

See this woman right here…? Ask her and she’ll probably tell you that I’m a teddy bear with a gentle heart when it REALLY comes down to it… I don’t desire to fight with, hurt, or even speak a harsh WORD toward ANYBODY really…

Until…

Someone… anyone… even hints at threatening her… then? You have no true idea what I would do to that human being… but I do.

Is that toxic?

No. That’s who God made me to be… her protector and shield. Trusting HIM to take care of her where I can’t and enabling me to do all I can for her.

She is just ONE that I fight for…

A warrior without a “fight” or “cause” is a danger to himself and others… THAT is “toxic…”
